Ali scallop diver

Ali is a commercial scuba diver based in Lyme Regis harbour. We dive off Grey Mist, a 26ft vessel that has been moored there for the last 15 years.
Their dive grounds cover a 60-square-mile area in Lyme Bay, which has had a dredging ban since 2008, allowing marine life to thrive.
Unlike other methods of fishing for scallops, we have no by-catch and do not harm any other sea life or cause damage to the seabed. By only hand-selecting large, mature scallops, we ensure that they have had time to reproduce, allowing future generations of scallops to thrive. We specifically plot on charts where each dive has taken place and then leave that area for several years to replenish.
